This review is from: A Change of Fortune (Ladies of Distinction Book #1) (Kindle Edition)
Disguised as Miss Eliza Sumner, governess, this former lady of the English aristocracy has lost her father, her fiancé, her fortune and her hope.
A faith-based historical romance, Eliza lands in New York City bent upon regaining her family fortune, stolen by her late father’s unscrupulous man of finances.
It was all supposed to be so neat and tidy: Journey to New York, retrieve her fortune, and return back to England. However, she is hired as governess to wealthy, handsome widower Hamilton Becket’s two young children. The noblewoman desperately clings to her masquerade but a very curious Hamilton, his friends and acquaintances rally to help Miss Eliza any way they can.
And, of course, Eliza’s attempts to wrest back her fortune are bumbling, hilarious and dangerous. The situations poor Eliza gets herself into produce visual sight gags of the gut-busting variety.
With such a powerful attraction, how long will Miss Eliza and Hamilton keep from climbing all over each other? You’ll just have to read this madcap, mystery-romance to find out. I loved it.
